About Lana

Helping young people and families find clarity in an increasingly complex world.

Why I Coach

My journey into coaching began through education.
Working as a teacher and in learning support gave me the privilege of working closely with young people from a wide range of backgrounds, personalities and learning styles. While academic achievement was important, I became increasingly fascinated by something deeper.
Why did two equally capable students approach learning so differently?
Why did some young people thrive with the right encouragement while others quietly lost confidence?
Why were organisation, motivation and self-belief often having a greater impact than ability alone?
Those questions eventually led me into coaching.
I realised that meaningful change rarely begins with giving more advice. It begins with taking the time to understand the person sitting in front of us.

About Me

Today’s young people are growing up in a world filled with expectations, constant comparison and an endless stream of advice. Parents are navigating more information than ever before, schools are supporting increasingly complex needs, and young people are often expected to know how to manage challenges they have never been taught to navigate.
Sometimes, what we need most isn’t another strategy or another opinion. It’s the opportunity to slow down, reflect and better understand ourselves.
That belief sits at the heart of everything I do.

What I’ve Learned

Working alongside young people, parents and educators has continually reminded me that there is no single path to growth.
Every child learns differently.
Every family has its own story.
Every challenge deserves to be understood before it’s solved.
I’ve learned that confidence often grows through small, consistent successes rather than dramatic breakthroughs.
I’ve learned that parents rarely need someone to tell them what to do. More often, they need the space to reflect, ask questions and feel confident in the decisions they’re making.
I’ve learned that teenagers don’t expect adults to have all the answers. They simply want to feel heard, understood and supported.
Most importantly, I’ve learned that the best outcomes happen when young people, parents and educators work together as partners, creating an environment where lasting growth can take place.

Beyond Coaching

Alongside being a coach, I’m also a parent.
I understand first-hand that raising children today can feel both rewarding and overwhelming. With so much information available, it’s easy to feel that we should always have the answers.
That experience continually reminds me that coaching isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating a space where young people and the adults around them can pause, reflect and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
Whether I’m working with a student, a parent or a school community, my goal is always the same: to understand first, build trust and help people move forward in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.
